I’ll be honest. I dont really love running. But, As a former professional soccer player, I’ve always been drawn to challenges that push me outside my comfort zone. I love the idea that choosing to do something difficult and daunting, and fully committing to it can lead to incredible growth. 

It's with that in mind that I decided to run the New York City marathon while fundraising for the Human Rights Campaign. Taking on this race has become about more than just crossing a finish line. It’s about resilience, discipline, and showing up every day with purpose — values that sports first taught me and that continue to shape who I am, things I want to highlight and represent to my kids every day. 

In this moment, the work of the Human Rights Campaign is even more critically important than ever and will have an enduring impact for decades to come.  

Their advocacy, education, and fight for equality are helping create a future where everyone can live openly, safely, and authentically. They work herocially and tirelessly on anti-discrimination legislation, voting equity, healthcare access and so much more to support our communities. 

I’m proud to support that mission and aim to use this challenge as a way to contribute to something much bigger than myself.
